Honey-garlic pork ribeye steak

You might not be completely familiar with pork steaks but they have become a firm favorite in our house. Not only are they easier to cook than pork chops (the connective tissue means they stay juicier and don’t dry out so quickly), they’re also super versatile and absolutely delicious.

They work very well cooked with a sweet, sticky sauce and this honey-garlic sauce is a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Serve with steamed greens, these pork ribeye steaks make an excellent easy weeknight dinner.

How to cook pork ribeye steak

Sear the steaks in a hot pan until well-browned on both sides. Mix honey, soy sauce (or Tamari or Coconut aminos for a gluten free version), chilli flakes/red pepper flakes, lemon juice and minced garlic and pour into the pan. Allow to cook and reduce, basting the pork with the sauce, until the sauce is thick and sticky and the pork is cooked through.

Are pork steaks and pork chops the same?

Pork chops and pork ribeye steaks are very similar. Pork ribeye is also cut from the loin but is boneless and cut from the rib area of the loin. If you can’t find pork ribeye steaks, pork chops can easily be used instead.
