Creamy breakfast smoothies packed to the brim with nutrients. Chia seeds, almonds and yoghurt all add to the good-for-you factor of these fruity smoothies.I’m struggling with breakfast lately. I just don’t have the appetite for anything properly nutritious first thing in the morning. A cup of coffee and perhaps a few rusks (South Africa’s more delicious answer to biscotti) are about as much as I can stomach. However, I know I need to do better and so I have been trying to build up my repertoire of quick, easy and varied breakfast options. I LOVE eggs for breakfast but I can’t eat them every day.

Strawberries for smoothies

These breakfast smoothies are such a great way to get a truck-load of nutrition into your first meal of the day and they are bloody delicious, if I do say so myself. PLUS, you can make these the night before and keep them in the fridge before grabbing and go-ing the next morning. We’re winning all around today. I think the key to making really great smoothies is to try to pack as much into them as you can, nutrition-wise. These contain rolled oats, almonds, chia seeds, pineapple, yoghurt, strawberries and a little maple syrup (the pineapple and strawberries were very tart) but you can totally leave that out to create a no-sugar-added breakfast treat.

  1. I also love smoothies so SO much I mainly have it for health reasons, but their delish taste is and added bonus , I would most probably use them for my smoothies and drink I’m style šŸ™‚

  2. Oh wow I hadn’t heard of these before! Will definitely look out for them, they’re gorgeous!

I personally love light summer drinks with mint and lemon slices. I make a pink lemonade with mint and lemon slices…maybe sliced strawberries. …I think it’d look awesome in here.

Love that you can make these smoothies the night before. Will definitely try it out. Tomorrow I am FINALLY making those corn cakes.

  3. My comment never posted. Let me try again. Milkshakes, with bits on top. Milkshakes just look like they taste better in them. Normal milkshake glasses may be “retro” but milkshakes in a jar are automatically amazing.

  4. Those amazing looking milkshakes everyone makes in them. That same milkshake looms arb in a normal glass but put them in one of these babies and BOOM!

  5. I would make hot chocolate kits with these jars and leave them on my hot drinks nook. I’d add in all the cute ingredients like chocolate pieces or a chocolate stick with mini marshmallows. Then invite friends over on a chilly day. Just add steamed milk.

  6. I would definitely make the salted caramel iced coffee recipe I got on Pinterest, I would look great in the Ball drinks jars.
