So 2 days after the massive Indian themed birthday feast, and I’m still tired. But I could not have had a better birthday. The curry night went so incredibly well and my family and friends could not stop raving about how delicious everything was, every cooks dream! I got compliments about the decor, the martini’s and let’s just say, my family grew uncharacteristically quiet while eating the creamy and decadent chocolate mousse. I was very, very happy! I got some more Exclusive Books vouchers and added the lovely Comfort by Tina Bester to my cookbook collection. After BAKE, I knew I had to get her latest offering.
And as I promised, here are the first of the recipes that formed part of my Indian Feast. We started the night off with Mango Martini’s (or as I called them, Mangotini’s) and they were oh so yummy! I would’ve probably enjoyed a warm cup of Chai Tea more as it was so icy in Pretoria, but never-the-less, everyone loved them. Very easy to make (I just did it in a jug) and quite a crowd pleaser.
2 Parts Vodka
1 part Triple Sec
3 Parts Mango Juice
1 part Lime Juice
Mix all the ingredients together and serve with a lime wedge and an ice cube.
We had Lamb Korma, Butter Chicken, Poppadoms, Rice and Naan for dinner. As I’ve blogged about all of these before, I’m just adding the links.

Glad to hear everything went so swimmingly! You must be a very happy hostess.
What a delight! And don’t you just love it when a party comes together? I’ve also been trying my hand at Indian lately, with a yummy butter chicken under my belt, my boy says we can’t eat it in restaurants anymore, because mines better! couldn’t be happier.. Glad you enjoyed your birthday, looks like it was quite an occasion!!
I have been told that I cook curry like an Indian which is quite a compliment! lol I just LOVE Indian food.
Thanx, my birthday was GREAT! 🙂
