Happy 2016 everybody! I know it’s been quiet around these parts for a few weeks but that’s because I took a much-needed break over December. We weren’t planning on going on holiday but the day we finished all the work we had for our clients C gave me one look and knew that if we didn’t go away, I would be a miserable wench over Christmas. And how grateful I am that he made that decision because I only really realised how much I needed some time off once we drove into the picturesque coastal town of Stilbaai, where we usually go for our Summer holidays. I had time to reflect, relax and spend quality time with my kids, husband, brothers and my dad. We ate too much, spent lazy days on the beach and laughed until our stomachs hurt and for me that is exactly what a holiday has to be.
I’ve also thought a LOT about Simply Delicious. Where I want to take it, what I want to do with it, etc. The number one thing I’ve decided is that I will not neglect it the way I have the last year. I am incredibly blessed to be working with wonderful clients and doing work that most people only dream of but I have left my little blog baby behind and I promise to not do that this year. I also want to try some new stuff. When I started this blog it was much more personal. I would write about my family and my kids, my friends and what I had been up to. Over time, that changed. I’m not really sure why but it’s almost like I became a recipe-generating-machine and all personality was lost. This too will change. And it changes right now. I have decided to share photos of my weeks/months/as I feel like in posts titled Simply Sunday. I am in no way promising that this will be a weekly or even a monthly thing but I always love seeing a glimpse into other people’s lives and I thought I would do the same over here. The posts will usually not be as “wordy” as this and will really just be my week/month in photos.
May 2016 be a wonderfully prosperous and happy year for you all and I hope you enjoy the changes and additions I hope to make to Simply Delicious this year.
