chocolate recipes

I know you might say I’m evil for posting this first thing on a Monday morning. But sometimes, all you need is some chocolate to get you through the day. That’s why I thought I would share my favourite chocolate recipes with you. From decadent cakes and easy chocolate fudge to a coconut ganache so good, you’ll want to drink it.

Funnily enough, I’m not one of those people who need to have chocolate all the time, but I do get intense cravings every now and then and when those cravings hit, I am so desperate for  chocolate that I would contemplate selling my kidneys for some. It’s no wonder then that there are a plethora of fabulous chocolate quotes out there and these are some of my favourites:

“Forget love … I’d rather fall in chocolate!” – Anonymous

“The 12-step chocoholics program: Never be more than 12 steps away from chocolate!” – Terry Moore

“There are four basic food groups: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and chocolate truffles.” – Anonymous

“Nine out of ten people like chocolate. The tenth person always lies.” – John Q. Tullius

“Funnily enough, I’m not one of those people who need to have chocolate all the time, but I do get intense cravings every now and then and when those cravings hit, I am so desperate for chocolate that I would contemplate selling my kidneys some.”

I know exactly what you mean. The people who’ve seen me on a chocolate binge would howl with laughter if I said this to them but I’m actually not a chocoholic. It’s just that when I’m in the mood for chocolate, I don’t do things by half. I remember being really annoyed with my mum once, when I came home to find that she’d eaten the chocolate I’d been looking forward to ALL DAY. (It was Lindt chcolate too!) I was even angrier when she just shrugged and said “I’m sorry, I just needed chocolate.” by way of justification.

And now that I’m no longer a crazy, hormonal teenager, I can look back and absolutely understand what she meant.

I love that John Q. Tullius quote by the way. One of my favourites is Dawn French’s line from the Chocolate Orange adverts: “It’s not Terry’s, it’s mine.” That basically sums up my attitude towards chcolate. 😛
