Heat a deep pan over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and cook for 5 minutes then remove from the pan. In the same pan, saute the onions, garlic and herbs until fragrant.
Add the chicken. Season with salt and pepper and cook until golden brown.
Add the bacon back to the pan then add the chilli flakes, tomatoes and stock.
Season to taste then reduce the heat and simmer the sauce, partially covered, for 15-20 minutes. The sauce should be slightly reduced but not cooked dry.
Stir in the parsley and season if necessary.
Serve the sauce over pasta of your choice topped with Parmesan and fresh basil.
