If making your own, make the dough by combining by blooming your yeast in some warm water with sugar.
Once foamy, combine the yeast mixture with flour and salt and knead until a soft, smooth dough forms. Cover the dough and allow to rise for an hour or two until doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, roll out onto a lightly floured surface until approximately 1cm thick.
Spread the basil pesto over the dough then add the grated cheese and season with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
Slice the dough into 2cm/1inch wide strips with a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
Twist each piece of dough then place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Allow the bread sticks to proof for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.
Place the bread sticks in the oven and allow to bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and risen.
Remove from the oven and immediately brush with melted butter. Allow to cool for 10 minutes then serve.
