Ingredients

streaky bacon
finely chopped
500
g (1lb)
green beans
ends trimmed
4
garlic cloves
crushed
1-2
tsp
lemon juice
salt and pepper
to taste
Instructions
Finely chop the bacon then cook in a large frying pan until crisp and golden.
Remove the bacon from the pan with a slotted spoon and set aside. Drain the bacon fat, leaving 1-2 tbsp behind.
Add a splash of olive oil then add the green beans. Saute the green beans for 4-5 minutes, stirring regularly, until they are al dente.
Add the garlic and bacon and cook for another two minutes until the beans are cooked to your preference and the garlic is fragrant.
Add the lemon juice and season to taste then serve.
