Ingredients
Per sandwich
2
slices
bread of your choice
2
slices
leftover ham / gammon
1
cup
grated cheese
(I like using a combination of mozzarella, cheddar and Havarti)
1
tbsp
preserves
(onion jam, cranberry sauce, etc.)
2
tsp
butter
Instructions
Spread the preserves on both slices of bread.
Layer cheese and slices of ham together on bread of your choice then butter the outsides of each sandwich generously.
Place the sandwich in a large pan set over medium heat and cover with a lid.
This will allow the cheese to melt quicker without burning the outside of the sandwich.
Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp with perfectly melty interiors.
Remove from the pan and allow to rest for a 1-2 minutes before slicing and serving.
