This easy apple galette made with store-bough puff pastry is the perfect dessert if you love apple pie but don't want to fuss with pie dough, filling, etc.

Peel the apples using a vegetable peeler then slice into thin slices, discarding the core. You can also chop the apples into small pieces.
Place the apple slices in a large bowl then add the sugar, salt and cinnamon. Toss well.
I prefer using a skillet to bake the galette but a sheet pan, baking sheet or pie dish can also be used.
Place the thawed sheet of puff pastry on a piece of parchment paper.
Add the apple mixture to the center of the pastry and fold the edges into the middle of the galette. Add cubed butter to the top of the apples.
Brush the pastry with beaten egg and sprinkle with a little more sugar (optional).
Bake the galette in a preheated oven on the bottom rack of the oven for 30-40 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp and the apples are cooked.
Remove from the oven then serve with salted caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
