What is Boursin cheese?
Boursin is a soft cream cheese with a flavorful blend of garlic and fresh herbs. It is one of the most delicious cheeses I’ve ever tasted and is positively addictive. It is fantastic on its own but crumbed and baked, it is sensational.
How to make Baked Boursin Cheese
- Bread the cheese: The cheese is best coated while cold so take it out of the fridge right before breading. Room temperature cheese will be too soft. Place flour, beaten egg and seasoned panko breadcrumbs into three separate bowls. Coat the Boursin first in the flour, making sure the cheese is completely coated. Dust off the excess then dip in the egg, once again ensuring it’s well coated and finally coat in the panko. You can repeat the egg and panko steps if you’d like a thicker crust.
- Bake the Boursin: Place the crumbed cheese in a parchment-lined baking dish. Place in a hot oven and allow to bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Make the chilli honey: While the Boursin bakes, mix the honey with the finely diced chillies. You could alternatively use hot honey. stir together and set aside.
- Make the ciabatta toasts: Thinly slice the ciabatta and place on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and bake until crisp and golden on both sides.
- Serve: Once the cheese has baked, remove from the oven. Place on a serving platter or board scattered with thyme alongside the chilli honey and ciabatta toasts or your favorite crackers. Serve immediately.
Can I make this ahead?
The cheese can be crumbed up to an hour before baking and baked right before serving.

Do you make Boursin into a round ? Or if crumbled , how do you coat it? I’m missing something, thanks
No, I buy the Boursin rounds – not crumbled.
Yum. I might have to make these for apps next time we have company.
