Combine the chicken with the breadcrumbs, beaten egg, parmesan and seasonings in a large bowl then mix well until combined.
With damp hands, form the mixture into golf-ball sized meatballs.
Heat a large skillet or non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
Add a splash of olive oil then add the meatballs and brown for a few minutes per side. You could also bake the meatballs on a parchment paper lined baking sheet until golden brown.
Pour the tomato sauce into the pan with the meatballs then top with mozzarella. Place in a hot oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the meatballs are cooked through.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle over fresh basil then serve.
