Make the marinade by combining the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, honey and seasonings in a small bowl.
Stir together then pour over the steak. I usually do this in a ziploc bag if I plan on marinating the steak overnight but you could also allow to marinate for 10 minutes.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F/205°C.
Add the steak to the air fryer basket and allow to air fry for - 11-12 minutes for medium-rare- 13-14 minutes for medium- 15-16 minutes for well done.
For the most accurate cook, use a meat thermometer.Rare: 125ºF/51ºC internal temperature on a meat thermometerMedium-rare: 130-140ºF/55-60ºC internal temperatureWell-done: 160ºF/71ºC internal temperature.
Flip the steak over half way through cooking.
Remove the steak from the air fryer and allow to rest for 5 minutes then slice and serve.
Notes
Can I make this ahead?
Steak is definitely best served immediately after cooking but any leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
What type of steak is best for Airfryer?
The best steak to use for air frying is rib eye, New York Strip, Sirloin or Rump. I also like using Filet Mignon but since it's such a lean cut of meat, the cooking time will be less. Follow my recipe for Air Fryer Filet Mignon for the perfect end result.
