I love a good last-minute recipe and this cheerful star puff pastry wreath is exactly that. Layers of store-bought puff pastry, butter and cinnamon sugar baked into a festive wreath is the perfect easy Christmas morning breakfast or emergency snack when unexpected guests turn up.
Lay a sheet of puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface then brush over half of the melted butter.
Mix together the cinnamon and sugar then sprinkle over, generously.
Brush the rest of the butter over the other sheet of pastry then sandwich, butter-side-down, onto the cinnamon sugar.
Refrigerate for 10 mins.
Use a festive cookie cutter and cut out shapes - I tried not to waste any so I used a round cutter too. I used those shapes to add structure to my wreath.
Refrigerate the shapes again while you preheat the oven to 180C/350F.
Assemble the stars into a wreath on your prepared baking sheet then brush with egg wash and pop in the oven for 15-20 min until golden brown.
Add a festive bow and dust with icing sugar then serve.
