Ingredients Needed

  • Cauliflower. I used fresh cauliflower but you could use frozen cauliflower too. They might not go quite as crisp but the flavor will still be delicious.
  • Extra-virgin olive oil. Avocado oil can also be used.
  • Spices: smoked paprika, garlic powder and onion powder. Other seasoning like cayenne pepper, dried oregano, cumin, chili powder and curry powder are all delicious on cauliflower.
  • Salt and black pepper.

How to make air fryer cauliflower

Place the cauliflower florets in a large bowl then pour over the olive oil. Add all the seasonings then toss well to make sure all the cauliflower florets are coated in the spices.

Preheat the air fryer to 370°F/190°C then add the cauliflower in a single layer. Air fry the cauliflower for 20 minutes. Shake the air fryer basket half way through, ensuring the cauliflower is evenly cooked until the cauliflower is golden and crisp on the edges. You’ll know the cauliflower is cooked when the stems are easily pierces with a sharp knife. Remove from the air fryer and serve with a squeeze of lemon juice to taste.

This recipe works equally well made in an oven to make roasted cauliflower. Simply season the cauliflower the spread onto a baking sheet then bake at 400°F/200°C for 30 minutes until crisp and golden.

Can I make this ahead?

The cauliflower can be seasoned a few hours ahead of cooking. Any leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer.

Serving suggestions

Air fryer cauliflower is delicious added to burrito bowls, in cauliflower curry or used in salads. It’s also a delicious side dish served with a variety of proteins like pork chops or roasted chicken.
