3 easy DIY flavored waters

It is a constant quest in life, to drink more water. Well, for most of the adults I know anyway. I’m always asked how I manage to drink the amount of water I do and how I love it so much. I can’t really answer that, I just do. I didn’t always though. As a teenager I simply despised water and my mom would have to force me to drink a few glasses a day. Then one day, I decided to challenge myself to down a 2 liter bottle of water (how fun does that sound…). I did it and it was ok. Then I decided to do that for a week. After 7 days, my skin had started clearing up and just felt so much better. Those dull headaches I was experiencing in the afternoon were gone and I had energy. I knew that I would have to carry on but I still didn’t like the taste of just water. That’s when I started experimenting with adding delicious things to my water.

We all know lemon and mint infuse water beautifully but have you thought about all the other goodness you can add to your water? There is always a jar of flavoured water in my fridge whether it’s a simple lemon-infused one or an upgraded version with sliced fruit and herbs. It helps me to drink liters of the stuff and I never feel like I’m just drinking water. In fact, now I prefer it over any other drink. I am often mocked about carrying a giant jar of infused water with me but I simply can’t be without it. Today I’m sharing my 3 favourite recipes for flavoured water with you. I hope you love them as much as I do.

    Aloha,
I live in Hawaii and we have a lilikoi (passion fruit) tree in our backyard that mostly goes to waste and I really need to start drinking more water so was looking ways to combine the two. My question is that you say to remove seeds/pulp….Which makes it sound like you want to throw that part out, but Doesn’t that just leave the shell? Or do you mean to add the pulp/seeds to the water? excited to try it! If you do put the seeds in, how do you stop from swollowing them? They’re super sharp like glass and can do some major damage to your insides! Sorry, so many questions, hehe. Much Mahalo for your time in answering these!

Hi there! Yes, I use the seeds but the passionfruit we get here definitely don’t have as sharp seeds. If you’re worried about them, simply push the seeds and pulp through a fine sieve to get all the flavoursome juice/pulp with none of the seeds.

Where do you get the passion fruit from?

I bought the ones I used in this water fresh from a fresh produce shop.
