My darling twins Aidan and Abigail turned 5 last week. FIVE! I’m not sure where the time has gone but I’d like to hit the pause button please! Anyway, since this is a big birthday, I decided to throw a party to be remembered. I wanted them to have memories of laughter, fun and lots of sweets and as I have such fond memories of the circus, I thought it would be an awesome theme for their party.
I had such fun planning the party decor and believe me, with a circus party there is SO much to choose from. I wanted to keep things relatively simple and decided to do a simple cake and cupcakes (I find kids prefer cupcakes than a big slice of cake) and stuck to old favourites like hamburgers and hotdogs. Throw in some popcorn, candyfloss and toffee (candy) apples and you have every child’s Heaven. I placed some candy in jars and had brown paper packets on the table for all the kids to help themselves and pack their own party packs. Lazy, yes. But this way the kids choose exactly what they want. All in all, this was the best party I’ve ever thrown and the kids had an absolute blast. They’re still talking about it and that’s exactly what I wanted!

Where did you buy your fruit kabob sticks?
I bought them from a party supply store.
