Easy Air Fryer Carrots
Air fryer carrots is a super quick and easy side dish recipe, perfect for busy weeknights. Simply seasoned and done in a flash, this is the perfect recipe to serve alongside easy main dishes like Baked Chicken Breast.

Ingredients and Substitutions
- Carrots. I used regular large carrots that I peeled and chopped but this recipe can be made with baby carrots too.
- Extra-virgin olive oil. Avocado oil or canola oil are good alternatives.
- Salt and black pepper. I chose to keep this recipe super simple so it goes with a variety of main dishes but feel free to play around with seasonings. Spices like cumin, paprika, garlic powder, cinnamon, coriander and curry powder are delicious on carrots. Herbs like parsley, thyme and oregano will also be tasty. A drizzle of honey or maple syrup will also be delicious and give you more of a caramelized, roasted finish. Toss with fresh herbs like chives or parsley and parmesan cheese for a more elevated version.


How to cook carrots in the air fryer
- Prep: Peel the carrots then slice into quarter-inch/half-centimeter slices. I like to do this at an angle to expose more surface area. In a large bowl, toss the carrots with olive oil, salt and pepper.
- Air Fry: Place carrots to the air fryer basket in a single layer then air fry at 390°F/200°C for 12-15 minutes, shaking half way through cooking, until the carrots are fork-tender and crisp on the outside.
- Serve: Remove from the air fryer then serve with your favorite dinner dishes.
Can I make this ahead?
Air fryer carrots can be prepared ahead and leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave oven before serving.
