Galentine’s Café at Home Menu

The Café-at-home trend has had me in a chokehold for the last couple of months. What’s better than enjoying good coffee and pastries with your friends? Below are all the recipes for the dishes I served during my Galentine’s Café at Home.

The Menu

I served a variety of pastries, sweet treats and a few savory options. A combination of home-made and store-bought keeps it manageable and no-one will mind that you didn’t make the croissants yourself.

Pastries & Baked Goods

  • Flaky croissants with Kerrygold butter: I served store-bought plain and chocolate croissants.
  • Cheddar and chive scones: These scones are incredibly delicious, especially with the addition of Kerrygold cheddar.
  • Buttermilk scones: Light, flaky and perfect with jam.
  • Pain au Raisin: Another store-bought addition.

Savory Options

  • Bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon.
  • Kerrygold cheddar bacon Quiche Lorraine: I used my tomato quiche recipe and simply swopped out the tomatoes and goat’s cheese for crispy bacon and Kerrygold Cheddar.

Tips for Hosting Your Own Café at Home

Prep ahead: Most pastries can be made the day before and stored in airtight containers. I made the quiche crust and scone dough two days in advance and kept them in the fridge until I was ready to bake. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months, unbaked. Reheat croissants and scones in the oven for 5 minutes before serving.

Presentation matters: Use cake stands, tiered trays and pretty platters to display everything. Fresh flowers and cloth napkins elevate the whole experience.

Create a menu: Print simple menus on cardstock – it makes everything feel more special and helps guests know what’s available. I also wrote out a drinks menu on brown paper to place by the coffee station.

Set up a coffee station: Offer regular and decaf coffee, a variety of milks, sugar and syrups so guests can customize their drinks. I also added a selection of fresh juices and champagne for mimosas.

Don’t forget the details: Take-away cups, paper bags for treats to take home and even little name cards for each pastry make it feel like a real café.

Make It Your Own

You don’t need to make everything from scratch! Mix homemade items with a few store-bought treats. The key is creating an experience – good food, great company and that cozy café atmosphere we all love.

Whether you’re celebrating Galentine’s Day, hosting a brunch or just want an excuse to bake and gather with friends, a café at home is the perfect way to make any occasion feel special.
