- Chicken breasts. Boneless thighs can also be used.
- Olive oil.
- Smoked paprika.
- Garlic powder.
- Oregano.
- Lemon juice.
- Salt and pepper.
- Pitas.
- Yogurt. Greek/plain yogurt.
- Garlic.
- Fresh dill.
- Lettuce.
- Cucumber.
- Red onion.
- Tomatoes.
How to make chicken pitas
- Marinate the chicken: Slice the chicken into thin strips and place in a large bowl. Add the olive oil, spices and lemon juice then mix well. Allow to marinate for 10 minutes.
- Cook the chicken: Heat a large pan over high heat then cook the chicken, in batches, until golden and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Make the sauce: Mix together yogurt, crushed garlic, chopped dill, fresh lemon juice, salt and pepper.
- Assemble: Warm the pitas in a hot oven. Stuff the pitas with the chicken, sauce, lettuce, cucumber, onion and tomato. Serve immediately.

The chicken can be marinated and kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours or frozen in the marinade for up to 3 months. The dill yogurt sauce can be made and kept in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
