How to make lemon pepper wings

  1. Season the wings: If your chicken wings are whole, split them by cutting the drumette from the flat. Use a sharp knife or kitchen shears and carefully cut in between the joint. Place the wings in a bowl. In a bowl or mixing jug, whisk together the oil, lemon juice and seasonings. Pour over the chicken wings, mix until well combined then cover and marinate for 20 minutes.
  2. Cook: Grill the wings over medium heat (on an outdoor barbecue/grill/braai or in a grill pan) until golden brown and cooked through (approximately 20-30 minutes). These wings can also be cooked in the oven or airfryer. Remove from the heat, drizzle over lemon juice and serve.

How long to cook chicken wings

Chicken wings take approximately 20-30 minutes to cook, depending on the heat they’re cooking at. Chicken wings are cooked when they are crisp, golden brown on the outside and opaque through to the bone. Take care not to cook them too long as they will dry out quickly.
