Garlic Parmesan Chicken Skewers
You’re going to love these incredibly juicy garlic parmesan chicken skewers. Basted with a garlicky butter sauce, they are so delicious and the perfect easy recipe.

Ingredients Needed
- Chicken. I used boneless skinless chicken thighs but you can use chicken breast too.
- Extra-virgin olive oil. Avocado oil is a good substitute.
- Fresh lemon juice.
- Spices: paprika, garlic powder, salt and black pepper.
For the garlic parmesan sauce
- Butter. I always have salted butter on hand but you can substitute with unsalted butter.
- Parmesan cheese.
- Fresh garlic cloves.
- Fresh parsley.
- Lemon juice.
- Salt and black pepper.
How to make garlic parmesan chicken skewers
- Marinade the chicken: Slice the chicken into bite-size pieces and place in a medium bowl. Stir together the oil, lemon juice and seasonings then pour over the chicken. Stir to combine and allow to marinade for at least 20 minutes. (You can also marinate the chicken in a ziploc bag.)
- Make the skewers: Soak wooden skewers in hot water while the skewers are marinating (metal skewers also work well). Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.
- Make the butter sauce: Combine melted butter, minced garlic, finely grated parmesan cheese, parsley, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Add a squeeze of lemon juice, taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Cook: Cook the chicken in a preheated grill pan or on an outdoor grill over medium-high heat for 12-15 minutes, turning regularly, until the chicken is golden brown on all sides and cooked through. Brush the parmesan butter sauce over the chicken for the last 2 minutes of cooking to prevent the garlic from burning. Remove from the grill, allow to rest for 2 minutes then serve.
Can I make this ahead?
The chicken can be marinated for up to 24 hours before cooking covered in the fridge. Leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Can I make this in the air fryer?
Yup! Air fry the skewers in the air fryer, pre-heated to 400°F/205°C for 15 minutes, turning over half-way through, until golden brown and cooked through.
Serving Suggestions
These skewers will go well with all your favorite summer side dishes but will be delicious all-year round with a variety of sides. We love it with creamy potato salad, grilled corn on the cob or broccoli and cauliflower salad. It’s also good with smashed potatoes, cucumber tomato salad and air fryer asparagus.
