Meal Plan #24 of 2026
This week we are making Smothered Chicken, Pork Sausage Meatballs in Tomato Sauce, Butternut Squash Soup, Chilli con Carne and Burgers. We’ve also had some requests to include season-appropriate alternatives to some of the dishes (think soups and salads which might not be ideal depending on the season you’re in).
We’ve also included a completed shopping list for your convenience. Simply click on the link and download! (Please note the shopping list does not include ingredients for breakfast and lunch recipes as these are optional. There is however space to add any ingredients you’ll need.)
Monday
Smothered Chicken
Why You’ll love this recipe:
- Family Fave: We are huge fans of chicken in any kind of creamy sauce but this sauce flavored with bacon, onion and garlic is a completely showstopper.
- Super quick: We love a main that comes together in under 30 minutes.
- Add a side: We love this with easy crusty bread, garlic butter rice or simply served over al dente pasta.
Tuesday
Pork Sausage Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
Why You’ll love this recipe:
- Family-friendly comfort food:Â This is a family classic, made easy. Using pork sausages means the meat is seasoned for you!
- Meal-prep friendly: The meatballs in the sauce can be made and kept in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
- Add a side: We love this over pasta but garlic bread for mopping up the sauce is a great idea!
Wednesday
Roasted Butternut Squash Soup
Why You’ll love this recipe:
- Meal-prep friendly:Â Soups in general keep incredibly well in the fridge and freezer. This one will last for up to 5 days in the fridge and up to 3 months in the freezer.
- Add a side: Serve with my focaccia bread or fluffy bread rolls.
- Seasonal Sub: Make a big Greek Salmon Salad and serve it family style.

Thursday
Chilli con Carne
Why You’ll love this recipe:
- Family Friendly: This chilli recipe is packed with vegetables and warm spices. It isn’t spicy though so it works for the entire family.
- Add a side: There’s nothing better than a bowl of chilli with a thick slice of jalapeño cheddar bread but store-bought corn chips are a great alternative.
Friday
Burgers with the BEST Burger Sauce
Why You’ll love this recipe:
- Meal Prep Friendly: The taco meat can be prepped and kept in the freezer for up to 3 months. The sweet potatoes can be baked or air fried, kept in an airtight container in the fridge and reheated before assembling. I almost never make these from scratch because the elements are all prepped and ready to go.
- Add a topping: Guacamole, cheese, sour cream, pico de Gallo, salsa. Go wild!
